Part One
Part one subtly asks what is liminal. The Distinction Between from London based Aoife Mac Alister is an article on the gap, or lack thereof, between high and low brow contemporary music. We have a piece of writing from Kathy Tynan, Texts for Nothing, which is made up of quotes from Beckett, Murakami, and Sebald among others, and is intended to be read alongside the commentary which she wrote herself. Both pieces are beautifully constructed and the relationship between the two gives the piece its resonance. We have another voxpop gone wrong from the poor sighted and brilliantly dyslexic Anon of The Strange and the Beautiful.
Cáit Fahey sent us a series of photos taken on a brownie camera which are stunning, Alice Butler provided us with the very fitting cover image, while Dave King was the harassed photographer for The Strange and the Beautiful.
Paul Guinan put it all together on the page for us and kept with our minimal taste (not to say we don't have any, it's just mininmal!)
Released on the 14th of April 2010 the print run has been limited to 300 with each one stamped and numbered
